Wade Tarling is an award-winning Canadian pianist, born and raised in Burnaby, BC. Throughout his over 20 year career, Wade has performed across North America, South America and Europe.
Holding a Bachelor of Music and a Jazz Diploma from Capilano University, Wade has studied alongside some of North America’s finest artists, including John Medeski, Chris Wood and Billy Martin (of Medeski, Martin and Wood), as well as Grammy nominated pianist, Rachel Eckroth. He has successfully infused his expertise and experience into teaching, from theory and technique, folk and jazz to rock and pop. He provides a positive and creative learning environment that cultivates a deep appreciation of music.
Wade currently lives in St. John’s, NL, where he has been an active part of the music scene. In addition to performing with several theatre companies (Best Kind Productions, Theatre St. John’s, Artistic Fraud and Rising Tide Theatre), he has worked as musical director on various projects including Songs for a New World, Little Women, The Last 5 Years and Mary Walsh’s Makin’ Time with the Yanks. Wade performs primarily with Dana Parsons and has toured extensively with The Ennis Sisters and Alan Doyle.
Wade has recorded several albums of original material with award-winning group, Hip Waders, and has released two solo piano albums including MusicNL nominated, Strength, and most recently, MusicNL award-winning album, Winter Songs.
