Wade Tarling is an award-winning Canadian pianist whose music has carried him across North America, South America, and Europe for more than two decades.
A graduate of Capilano University with both a Bachelor of Music and a Jazz Diploma, Wade has studied with some of North America’s most celebrated musicians, including John Medeski, Chris Wood, and Billy Martin (of Medeski, Martin & Wood), as well as Grammy-nominated pianist Rachel Eckroth. Drawing from this diverse background, he brings the same depth and versatility to his teaching—covering everything from theory and technique to folk, jazz, rock, and pop—while fostering a creative, supportive environment that inspires a lifelong love of music.
Now based in St. John’s, NL, Wade performs regularly with Dana Parsons and is best known for his work with The Ennis Sisters. With the JUNO Award–winning trio, he has toured extensively across Canada and abroad, performing in world-class venues and on national broadcasts. His dynamic playing adds colour and depth to the group’s signature harmonies, helping bring their celebrated blend of Newfoundland folk and contemporary songwriting to audiences everywhere.
Beyond his work with The Ennis Sisters, Wade has toured widely with Alan Doyle, showcasing his versatility on major stages and festival lineups. As a recording artist, he has released multiple albums of original material with the award-winning group Hip Waders, along with two solo piano albums: Strength (MusicNL-nominated) and the award-winning Winter Songs. His latest release, Shoreline Sounds, continues his tradition of transforming landscapes and experiences into vivid, emotional musical journeys.
